Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this as a Texas Instruments TI-84 calculator online?+

This is an independent graphing calculator with common scientific features. It is not a TI-84 emulator, does not use TI software or reproduce the TI keypad, and is not endorsed by Texas Instruments. Use the official TI site if you need its TI-84 online calculator.

What functions does the online graphing calculator support?+

It supports common arithmetic, parentheses, powers, pi, e, sin, cos, tan, sqrt, base-10 log, natural logarithm (ln), and abs for real-valued evaluation and graphing.

Can I switch between degrees and radians?+

Yes. Select the angle unit before entering trigonometric functions. This setting applies to the input of sin, cos, and tan.

How do I graph y = x squared?+

Enter x^2 in the function field. The graph updates, and you can enter an x-value such as 2 to see f(2) and nearby table values.

Why is part of my graph missing?+

The function may be undefined for those x-values, such as sqrt(x) for negative x or a quotient at a vertical asymptote. The calculator leaves non-finite values out of the plotted line.

Is this calculator allowed on exams?+

No exam approval is claimed. Exam calculator rules vary. Check the current rules from your testing organization and use an approved physical calculator when required.

Are my expressions uploaded?+

The calculator evaluates expressions in your browser. It does not require an account or send the entered function to a calculation server.

About this tool

Free Online Graphing Calculator

Use this free online graphing calculator to plot a function, evaluate f(x) at a chosen value, and inspect nearby values in a table. Enter common expressions such as x^2, sin(x), sqrt(x), or 2*x+1. Adjust the x-axis range and select radians or degrees for trigonometric functions.

## Graph a function and evaluate f(x)

Enter an expression in x to see its graph update in your browser. Choose a value for x to calculate the corresponding output, then review the value table around that input. The graph range can be changed to focus on a region of interest. Undefined values, such as points outside a square-root domain or at a vertical asymptote, are omitted from the plotted line.

## Supported scientific expressions

Use arithmetic operators, parentheses, powers, the constants pi and e, and common functions including sin, cos, tan, sqrt, log (base 10), ln (natural log), and abs. Trigonometric input can be interpreted in radians or degrees. Use explicit multiplication for clarity, such as 2*x rather than 2x. The function parser validates entries and displays a message when an expression is not supported.

## How to use the graphing calculator

Enter an expression, choose the angle unit, and set the x value you want to evaluate. Adjust the graph minimum and maximum to change the visible window. The results update as you edit. Use the scientific keypad buttons to insert common functions, copy the evaluated result, or reset the example.

## Looking for a Texas Instruments calculator?
